For school money-start at the local college finical aid office. You dont have to enroll at that particular school but they can get you started. FASFA is the first grant i was told i had to apply for (it is on-line)https://fafsa.ed.gov/i ndex.htm It is free. There are links that will charge you...this one is free. From there if you are approved they will tell you what else you qualify for--some finical aid offices are smarter than others so you may have to push. Also work force comission has a program WIA. They will assist you with training programs and paying for them.

Hi.. I know you are not alone in this mess. It is sad so many families are in this position after active duty. If he is currently National Guard you can go to the base for help. I can try to get more resources for you.  I am 40+ single Mom and a college student. I own my home (for now) I can not seem to find a decent job and i am not making anywhere near enough to pay my bills  (I have been putting them on credit cards) My kids Father doesnt see the need for child support and i am just fixing to loose everything.
